  • 2014-2015, Develop an Interactive Mobile Information Platform to Promote Wetland Education and Outreach, Funded by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (vgiweb.unl.edu)
  • Nebraska Wetland Project:
    (1) Develop a real time reporting system for monitoring wetlands in Nebraska;
    (2) Build a website for promoting wetlands awareness;
    (3) Some outreach includes collecting wetlands data and data analysis;
    (4) Transfer SSURGO data (Soil Survey Geographic database) to mobile devices.
  • 2012-2014, Building a Living Laboratory and an Evidence-Based Education Toolkit to Improve Omaha's Urban Water Quality, Funded by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (www.unl.edu/greeninfrastructure/)
  • UNL's Urban Waters Project:
    (1) Develop several mobile applications, and build websites.
    (2) Prepare and set up public meetings, which include developing an online survey for promoting education, making posters and door hangers.
    (3) Build a laboratory for addressing related research topics. This project finally got 50 rain barrels donated by PepsiCo Inc., and it was chosen to be a demonstration model by EPA in 2013. [PDF]

  • Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing, China.
  • Joined in a project for making a community eco-environmental assessment in Beijing. Related works includes: developing a web-GIS for showing the assessment scores of each community; collecting spatial data; spatial data analysis and mining.

  • 2010-2011, Landscape Concept Plan for SanSi Town and ShiHe Town, JingZhuang Village, Beijing, China. Works include:
    (1) 3D modeling and rendering;
    (2) Develop a GIS virtual for showing the proposed area;
    (3) GIS/Remote sensing analysis;
    (4) Landscapes design;
    (5) Historical preservation study. This plan received an award from the government in Beijing, 2011. Funded by the government of Beijing.
  • 2008-2010, Ecological Plan for Ancient Yellow River, City of ShangQiu, HeNan, China. Works include:
    (1) Assessing the potential flood risk of WuTun reservoir;
    (2) Using GIS to simulate the planning results;
    (3) Formulate the documentations. Funded by the government of ShangQiu.
